elimination diet?

Just curious - has anyone ever tried an elimination diet - going to very basics and then slowly adding in one food at a time to see reactions / symptoms. I know that this is usually used to test for allergies etc but curious if anyone has found it helpful in identifying what foods trigger more crohns symptoms for them?

That is basically what they did with son after he had been on enteral nutrition for 7 1/2 weeks. Different food groups were added at one stage at a time (most easily digestible first). Each group was given approx 4 days to show any reaction and then the next group was added(took around 3 weeks before he was eating 'normally')
For him, no foods were identified that caused any particular problems but if you believe there are foods that do trigger you it may be a fairly simple way to identify them.
