I know this is common with CD/Pred, but I was under the impression from what I'd read that it was kind of an all over thing? Does anyone experience it in one specific place? It's come on hard and heavy the last couple weeks, but very centralized and no other issues anywhere else...just wondering (hoping) this is common.

See the doc Tuesday and yes I'll talk to him, just looking for experience here.

My joint pain was mostly in my hands, but I've also had pain in one knee, one elbow, one shoulder and my jaw. Not all at the same time. My hand pain would also be on my thumb, pinky, wrist, not all at once and not predictably anywhere in particular. It seems very random and bizarre to me.

The one thing I can say is that at my age, some parts of my body have seen more abuse than others, and they're the ones that seem to hurt first. My right knee was banged up pretty bad when I was 16, now it's achy. My left shoulder was broken when I was 11, that's the one that hurts first. My right elbow....you get the picture.

I can't remember where I recently read.. think it was a medical journal on line that Crohn's Arthitis hits ankles and wrists more frequently.. My own pains include those as well as the 'inside points' of my elbows.. and my knees.. also I wake up with my hands hurting but that resolves itself during the day.

My rheumy told me that this pain is caused by the same inflammation agents that inflame my guy. If this is the case I'm pretty screwed because my pain has been very bad lately.. sed rate up.. and surgery next month.. if I could postpone it I would to wait for things to calm down a bit .. but I don't have this luxury as my stricture is so long and narrow so at this point it is more dangerous to wait.

Since starting prednisone, I have been having pains in my ankles. The pain awakens me in the very early morning forccing me to get up and walk around.

My joint pains from the Crohn's are usually always in the knees and then the wrists, but not at the same time. Usually I've done something to provoke even a small type of inflammation in one and then the Crohn's takes over from there.

I've been having pain in my shoulders and hips lately... Shoulders seemed to have been on and off for years and I dunno if maybe I just did injured them when I was younger or something but don't recall doing so. My hip pain is fairly new (within the last couple months) and only comes from time to time and comes on as an ache normally on the right side.

I'm in my mid-20s so I'm thinking this must be Crohn's related...

My joint pain lately is in my shoulders and hips too. It is always at its worst in the morning when I wake up. Some days the pain gets better as the day goes by, but it mostly aches all day!

It seems that most people experience joint pain that have Crohn's, but it didn't start until I was in my late 30's.
