Hi everyone. I'm new to this... but this morning I was reading some great posts by others who have had experience with crohns. As a side topic - do you find when its discovered you have crohns, doctors just automatically assume that's the problem? And the tone changes to a fake 'poor you'. Like I'm the cause of it. Anywho - small vent.
The last several months - perhaps 4 - I've been so incredibly thirsty. Some days worse than others. I have learned I have another fistula - rectum to vagina. Based on a colonocopy and fecal matter in the wrong place. I've had slow digestion/constipation for a few years. Fistulas started to appear about 10 years ago. I'm starting to realize that the thirst is affecting other areas - like my skin and I'm light headed when I stand. AND... I get a herpes outbreak sometimes. Something new that appeared out of the blue (after I hadn't been with anyone for AGES).
They did a colonocopy. And I've been waiting for nearly 1.5 months now for a scan.
Oh. And I had a IUD put in about 8 years ago and when doctor went to remove it (2 months ago) the strings broke. Now I've been waiting on a specialist call for that too. I wanted it out - when I was starting to wonder if it might be a cause of something. Copper toxic?
Energy is low. But I'm functioning. That said, what comes with low energy is usually low motivation. So life seems to be suffering a bit these days. But I started dating an amazing guy last year who is supportive. Although I sometimes feel like I hold back the truth a bit.
Me. Diagnosed at 21. Been in hospital once for near blockage but solved its self. Admitted twice in 2002 for insanely painful rectal fistulas (pushing on a nerve). I've never had surgery. But I've been mostly good with diet and exercise/run a lot and live in healthy ski town.
