I started with Humira pen in June 2010. I learned from others on his site to freeze the area, which I have done. I also take the Humira out of the fridge approximately 1 hour before using it. Yesterday when I done my Humira, the injection area had a bubble, still hurt injecting, some of the liquid seeped out and it bled for a little bit. The injection site wasn't red however, it did bruise a little bit. Did this happen to you? this was the first time the bubble had formed and lasted the day. Help!

Why do you freeze the area and leave the pen out of the fridge for an hour?

You should definitely call your dr. That has never happened to me in four years. BTW, I do not freeze the area or leave the pen out before injecting either.

I take the Humira out of the fridge because others had posted here that it has helped and it doesn't hurt as much. And to freeze the area also prevents the painful injection, well it had in the past for me.... this time was different and I am not sure why.

Not really sure. I just take the pen out and grin and bear it.

i freeze the injection site too, seems to help alittle. there is usually a bump after inject, but i never pay attention how long it lasts. its definitly gone by the next day when i take my shower. I also did get a really bad bruise one time, it was dark purple about the size of my fist, and was thre for almost a week. but it was just the one time, so i didnt really think much of it.

so how long did it take for the humira to work its magic on you. ive been on it since January, and while its helped some..I still suffer with pain some days.

I also leave it out of the fridge for approx. 45mins to 1 hour. I called the Humira number and they said you should leave it out for about a half an hour.
I never had a bubble thou. I've had bad bruises from bleeding, some that last for weeks. I would inquire about the bubble with the doctor or call the Humira number on the box

Hey, JustcallmeD, the Humira took me 6 months to feel great. I was told by the dr. 3-4 months however, others on this site said give it 6 months, I was really ill and wasn't sure how I could make it that long however, I did and was so worth it, I feel great!
