Haven't been around in awhile...

So since I joined the forum in 2003 or 4 I have had 2 more boys- one is 2mths old now :)  CD has behaved since 2006, with some minor flares.  I think what helped was the combination of diet, methotrexate and entocort.  Haven't been on meds since 2005 I believe. 

I am a little scared right now cause I am having a flare.  I have CD in the terminal ilium.  My flares consist of pain, feeling flu-like, nausea, sometimes fever.  I believe it started up again because of the stupid stupid stomach flu that went around our house a couple weeks ago- prob combined with the change in hormones from after pregnancy. 

I am going back to my safe diet (ensure, boiled chicken, white bread, rice)  and will be praying that this settles down soon...I am breastfeeding and need to be healthy..not to mention having 3 children to look after. 

Things haven't been perfect since 2006 however, I have had bouts of esophagitis- finally diagnosed with inlet patch- not fun- esophageal spasms hurt so bad.  Also have had problems with pancreatitis....really it seems that when one organ is done being inflammed another one is :(

I too have been "on and off" this forum -- I'm glad you're back and so sorry you're having a bad time.

lol...nuts maybe- however there are reasons for no meds over the last 5 years. Pancreatitis from immuran, allergic to asacol/pentasa. Once I was in remission and my liver started getting wonky from the mtx I went off and continued on the path of remission. I did not see a reason at that point to go on a heavy duty med like remicade or humira when doing better. Even though it has been done and babies have been born healthy (I personally know a few) I chose not to be on any drugs during the childbearing years..I would not try to get pregnant while flaring (not in the mood lol)and my luck baby would be born with a defect and even though it may not be related I would blame myself forever... I will not go on a major med unless warrented. If pain/symptoms get bad enough I will go on the entocort again- I'm just not wanting to take anything while breastfeeding- this is my last baby and I don't want to stop any earlier than needed- however if it gets to that, it gets to that...hoping not though!
