I took a 50mg trammadol and 1 1/2 oxycodone, I have arth. from cd, I was wondering if I could take tramm's for back and arth pain and less of cd pain med, I really want to go back to 10mg vicodin without aceta. use tramm, because if that will help wihtout opiad, and use smaller amounts of opiad's for cd. by the way I feel pretty good now, but lately has been rough, see my new gi on may 10th. love to know if it is safe to mix, thanks you all

I forgot to say, I didn't take 1 1/2 oxy's at same time, it was speard out at 1/2 at time, had a few tramm's I have never tried, so rather than take another 1/2 of oxy, weren't doing anything, just C. so I tried tramm. and it worked better than the oxy. but it wasn't quite a cramping flare, but I felt so borderline, I had to try something, so I feel OK, started passing a bunch of gas. is it a cd coincidense, or can it really work?

Don't go into the light !!!!! Nah, I really don't know but would not try without asking. You can get a straight answer from your pharmacist though and they know more about it than the doctors when it comes to what mixes and what doesn't . I go back and forth with doubled up doses of Motrin. I know its bad for the crohns, but when given a choice of being able to move or staying in the crapper , I chose to be able to move .

I would ask I know post op I was on fentanyl patches but had Dilauded for break through pain. Now I only have oxycodone 5mg tabs (no tylenol in them therefore I can take that too if need be)

I take trammodol and co-codamol at same time when neck is bad. Not sure of the ones you are on about as different names in UK. Best to ask chemist, they will know which ones can and can't be mixed together.

stripey, what is co-codamol ? is co-codamol your version of U.S. version of codeine. I'm getting my med's thru my new dr and gi in mexico, so I'm trying to figure out exact recipe of drugs that will work the best with the least amount of opiad's. because of nature of cd for me, I have so many issue's from 9ft of small bowel removed, cd is not in remission but as close as it's going to get without surgery. So I'm just trying to be able to do what I do without out a lot of discomfort.

co-codamol is codeine and paracetamol mixed, I take the 30mg codeine and 500mg paracetamol ones and can take max 2 every 6 hours, they come in lower strenghts as well. I find the codeine in there slows bowel down really well and so GI rec codeine on it's own for afternoon dose as didn't want me to take any more paracetamol as risks of kidney probs as have low kidney function. Tramadol works well for me but the after effects hit me next day, as it makes me drift rather than sleep so the next day I am so tired cannot keep eyes open. After surgery and when I have had bowel blockage I take co-codamol and tramadol together and they work really well.

my specialist gave me tramadol after surgery and we found it was most effective in conjunction with co-codamol.

I am a big fan of paracetamol/codeine as a mix as it seems to be very effective for me for pain with the added benefit of slowing the bowels down. good luck on the 10th :)
