Doesn't anyone on here have a success story? 9 days out of having a Gore plug put in, 3 weeks after I unsuccessfully had the glue treatment done. I have constant drainage - if I don't go to the bathroom and press around the area to assist in draining it seals over and then swells to the point that the pressure builds up and causes pain that the meds don't even come close to taking the edge off it. I'm run down and exhausted. Normally I run 3 miles multiple times a week and work out 4x a week. Now I feel lousy going up and down steps. My surgeon told me recovery would be minimal??? What else do I have to look forward to here?

I questioned my surgeon about fibrin glue and fistula plugs... He didnt bet on either of them. Kind of old fashion in his treatment of fistulas. I dont recomend a cutting seton to anyone, but in my case the fistula was burried too deep in the sphinkter muscle so no other option but the cutting seton. The bane of my exsistance for 2 weeks until it cut thru. The second surgery 3 months later was a fistulectomy. That was a piece of cake to me compared to the seton.
Now that its over and healed completely I am thankful that I had the surgeon that I had and the procedures that he did.
Hope it turns out where yours heals up keep me posted Id like to know.
