Are you still taking your 6MP?

Zanne, Are you still taking your 6MP? Were you taking it when you had your recent surgery? Just wondering as my GI won't let me even have a tooth procedure or anything while on 6MP which is why I have an appointment on Friday to convince him I want LDN. If you are still on the 6MP, do you think it had anything to do with your healing problems? Your info would be helpful in my decision as to which drug to use. Thanks.

I have been on 6MP continuously for over 13 years. The only drug, that I have been on, that my doctors have warned me might slow my healing is prednisone. I was on a very minimal dose of that this time, so I don't think that had anything to do with it either. I think something completely off the wall is going on. I have never heard of 6MP slowing down the healing process, but then again, I don't always read all the latest info. Not sure if that was any help.

Thanks for getting back to me. My GI is starting to really concern me about the 6 MP. He says I have to take my temperature every day. I have to report to him if I have chills. I have chills every day - I take Beta blockers! I am supposed to carry hand sanitizer around with me and wash my hands at least 5 to 6 times a day. No medical work of any kind that is invasive on 6MP. What if I have an emergency? It goes on and on so much that I am seriously trying to find an alternative. Than, I hear you've been on it for 13 years. Don't know what to think or do at this point. I am 66 years old. I have other things wrong with me. It's not like I'm 40 and they have to maintain me for 30 years with this DD. Anyway, thanks for getting back to me.
