Woke up this morning and my hands, knees and feet are so swollen.  I hate this freaking disease.  Everything is sooo tight and sore.  Ugh!!  Ok vent over!!

OK, so I am going to say that maybe it is time to cry uncle and force your GI to call in the script for prednisone. Clearly you are in full on flare mode and Entocort is not going to get you under control fast enough. Those of us who have had this disease have a tendency to be WAY too patient with our doctors and our disease. I know I am guilty of it right now, hello suffering since February! I would like you not to follow this twins lead! Please think about calling on Monday and at least reporting the swollen joints and discussing other options for medication to get you feeling better soonish? We all want you better, NOW!!!

Thanks Zanne!! I kinda feel I can't complain to him yet, as today is the first day of Entocort. If it keeps up you can be sure I will be calling him. I think he will not prescribe anything else right now, until I prove to him its not C Diff. After reading everyones description of their CDiff I am more and more sure its not the case for me.

So funny I actually feel a little better guts wise today. I think its being able to sleep in and also lay down when I want to. Hopefully the Entocort kicks in quickly. Oh Zanne I am not sure he will give me the Pred, I think he is already concerned with my bones right now to give me that. I think that is a last case scenario for him. Hugs!

I've been on Humira almost a year now and a month ago I started having joint pain and swelling. Sometimes it is just crippling! I thought the Humira was supposed to help with arthritis?! I had my doc do blood tests to check for everything/anything sinister she could think of: gout, lyme's, lupus, cancer, etc. Everything was normal, she said she thought it was Crohn's related. Went to the GI doc who said it could either be a reaction to the Humira or my Crohn's is flaring. So, I've been paying close attention to when it bothers me and it appears to have no bearing on when I take my shot. It just hits when it wants, sometimes it is cured by 4 Ibuprophen, other times it isn't. So, I'm waiting for a call back from him to decide if we are going to do a Colonoscopy to see if my Crohn's is being aggressive and my Humira dose needs to be changed. I'll let you know what I find out.

Just fyi not sure you know this since you are fairly newly diagnosed. But meds (NSAIDS) like Ibruprofen or Aleve are not allowed for us Crohnies. It can cause bleeding and trigger flares. We are only allowed to take Tylenol for are pain or rx pain meds. I would hate for you to be messing things us further by taking these. Something good for the joints is Sulfazine. Might want to talk to the doc about that. It helps the Crohns and joints. But if you are allergic to sulfa meds, that one might not be an option for you then. Good luck!

Nanners:  Yeah, I know this, I am kinda screwed because I am allergic to Tylenol which is really unusual.  I have the bad anaphylactic shock reaction to it, it's pretty serious.  I'm going to have the pill cam test done, have to have the Agile test first, where you swallow the dummy pill and they make sure it makes it out okay.  I also made an appointment with a Rheumatologist as well.  But if they confirm my Crohn's is active again, then I will probably have the Humira dose adjusted and hopefully all this horrible pain will go away.  I try not to take much Ibuprophen, it's usually a last resort kinda thing when I can't stand the pain anymore and it's very severe.
