Today is day two of Entocort.  Not much d anymore, had some bad joint pain and swelling yesterday, feel better today.  Is it just because I am home and can relax more, or am I gonna feel like crap again tomorrow when I go back to work???

Don't get me wrong life isn't perfect, but I am feeling somewhat better.  I didn't think Entocort worked that fast, but if it is I ain't complaining.  Still doing the stool test to prove the doc wrong!  I mean if it was CDiff wouldn't I still be going lots?  Guess we will find out in a couple days, as I drop off the samples tomorrow morning.  Lets hope that history repeats itself and I am able to quiet this flare down quickly.  Hugs all!

I always assumed it worked fairly quickly. I haven't been on it for years though, so I can't remember for sure.
I hope it gets your bowels under control quickly, Nanners.

My old GI would never put me on Entocort because he wasn't convinced that it was worth the cost difference from prednisone, so I can't tell you how fast it works, but I will hope and pray that tomorrow brings more of the same and that you feel good. IF you feel yucky then it might be time to ask your doctor to give you a note to excuse you from work so you can rest, the weekend experiment will have shown you that rest is what your body needs.

I assume your doctor didn't start you on anything for C-diff yet, so it can't be that making you feel better, right?

Well I am at work and feeling okay. So hopefully the Entocort has kicked in.

Zanne, I just this morning dropped my stool specimens off at the lab. I highly doubt I have Cdiff as I think the diarrhea would have continued and it has abated quite abit. Plus I didn't ever have any of the symptoms for it anyways. I just did the test to prove him wrong.

By the way those stool tests are gross. You would think after having this disease this long, I would have been able to handle anything. But scooping your own poop into little jars is gross. I was gagging and almost puked:) Haha...

I'm so glad you are starting to feel better and that the operation is a go

I know exactly what you mean when you say that your body is weird
anyway.. entocort worked on me right away when I was admitted on my initial DX.. and I was on it for over 8 months after as the doctors sorted out what to do with me because so many weird things were happening including nasal polychondritis.. I had to take prednisone on top of the 9mg of entocort for that

I didn't realize that it was also prescribed as a 3 week med as well like prednisone

I work in a hospital and Cdiff has a very horrible, distinctive smell. And yes, you would be going constantly, more than 10 times a day and it would all be diarrhea. I hope your test turns out well!

Glad your feeling better . I know its not perfect but better is better than worse .
