Well the Entocort is working well for me, my flare is quieting down, and hopefully it will stay that way.

But because of my thin skin and now being on steroids my arms have all these deep red blood bruises.  If I barely bump my arms or hands these ugly red mark things pop up.

I guess I should be grateful that the Entocort helping, but geez it sucks I have to wear long sleeves in the summer:(  I hate people looking at it becuz I don't want them to think I have some contagious disease or something.  Okay vent over:)

I have that problem on my legs. I think it's from 6mp. When I was on prednisone, my arms looked terrible but they look normal now that I am off. Sorry you're feeling down, I doubt other people notice it like you do.

No they don't notice it becuz I use long sleeves, but they do when I don't. I am always afraid that people will think I have leprosy or something. Ugh!!

Ever since I lost the weight with my recent flare/surgery I have a bit of extra skin that needs tightening up on my legs and arms. I was at the right weight before and I feel too thin now and the extra skin just makes me feel worse. It was fine when it wasn't warm out, but now its shorts and short sleeves.... So I am right there with you, trying to cover up my arms and hide my legs. The only thing I have to offer is sheer, light weight tops that hide, but don't add warmth. That is what I have been doing.

Hi Nanners, I'm glad the entocort is kicking in for you. I am still waiting for mine, I went through Canada to get it. I know what you mean about worrying about long sleeves in the summer, plus I have to wear pants too because of the ugly vericose veins! GROSS. But regardless, I am so glad to know you aren't feeling like a full blown flare...we worry about you, and you are a constant here. Feel lot's better soon. Kathy

I am glad it is working for you! I am also glad you pushed to get the Entocort. Sometimes we have to be pushy with our Dr.'s since we tend to know what works and what doesn't. As for the appearance, I had the same thing for years on my legs after starting the biologics. I have been off them for several months and they are finally starting to fade. Amen!

Yay Nanners! Glad the entocort is working, and who cares about the bruises—wear short sleeves if you want. Seriously, though, I've had the odd embarrassing moment about that myself, since I've been bruising easily for years. I still wear whatever, but sometimes I wonder if ppl think my hubby is rough, with the bruises on my arms and legs...lol.

It sucks to be on more meds. My GI and I decided to go back on imuran now too.

Hmmmmmm , deep red blotches . Yep , that could be a problem with people thinking your ill or something. Oh wait , you are ill . I hate to be the example here , but , you could have a face like old sniper instead of bruised arms. Then people would not think you were ill . They would wonder other things , as they make a hasty exit . Glad your feeling better . Keep it up. Soon it will be peeper fixing time and for a few hours you wont see your arms . Bet your first look in the mirror after is not at your arms .

After watching my mother go for years without covering up some nasty looking psoriasis arms, I realized that it was because she was content being content. I try and maintain that attitude when I remember to....scaly legs and some pretty ugly bruises on them all the time. I still wear shorts and I just figure it gives the busy bodies something to entertain themselves.
