mouth sores and Crohns disease.

Hello, I am new here, I recently came down with what the doctors think is a virus, my mouth and throat are covered in sores. they are on my tongue and all over my mouth. during examination she was asking me if I had stomach pain and/or diarea. I told her no because till then I didn't. This morning I woke up with diarea and now every time I eat I feel sick to my stomach. with every bite I feel nauseous. Could I possibly have Crohns? should I go back to the doctor? Thanks for everyone's help!

Hi JoLeaShelby and welcome to Healingwell. Mouth sores are one of the symptoms of Crohns, so it wouldn't hurt to have tests run to rule it out. I would ask for a referral to a Gastroenterologist. Good luck!

Thank you....my stomach is better today I think....but the mouth sores are much worse...maybe Im worrying too much....

Could simply be thrush in the mouth. Yeast infection. Possibly a sign of crohn's? If its that out of control. Not real sure why you have chosen to concider crohn's? As a woman with crohn's I suffer often. Use 1 part benadryle (sp) 1 part milk of magneis (sp, sorry) mix keep cold in frig. Can be swallowed if in throat. Helps swallowing, pain and moisture. Doc. could offer a magic mouth wash. This contains an ingredient that takes care of the outbreak. If contians lydicaine could make sleepy if swallowed and will numb the gut all the way down. I try to just swish. hope helps. Been while since I have been on. redjeep

I only worried because a friend of mines sister has crohn's and when I went to get my mouth and throat checked the doc was asking me if I had stomach problems or diarea. after talking to my friend about it, cause I didn't understand why my doc asked me all those questions she told me that her sister gets this in her mouth before an outbreak. then the next day I wake up with diarea and nausea every time I ate......I worry to much sometimes.....
