frustrated with famliy and a dog diagnosed

This is nothing new but it's one of the big reasons i back on. They have never believed in the disease rather choose to believe it's all in my head. Went so far as to tell me that I could not possibly have this because it's genetic and only shows up in Jewish people. Not trying to pin point anyone out. It's just a complicated medical thing they pulled off the internet and read wrong. Whats laughable is my sister has informed me that her dog has been diagnosed. Whats not funny is that if it true, the vet is playing with meds I believe she has no business being so willy nilly about! She has put the dog on the same immune suppressent med as me. It nearly killed me. It caused me not to absorb any B12. This is just how the med works. Maybe different in dogs don't know? However he is showing the very same signs as me. They are doing some very expensive, painful procedures on the the dog without considering the possiblity. Nor do they seem to even want to check. So she has resigned herself to doing all this. Paying for all this and having the dog for as long as God will let her. Am I crazy! Can't you just check it in a dog? Maybe not, I don't know.
I love animals and it's heartbreaking watching all this go on. And to feel like I have some experience and am dismissed. By the way, dogs not Jewish. And I apologize to everyone for their stupidity. Want to just scream, but have learned it's better for everyone envolved if I keep them out of this part of my life. Just good and frustrated.

thanks for responding. I am so embarrassed at my families views on this. I really think my dad is so worked up about it being a genetic thing. As if there is something wrong with him that he cant focus on whats at hand. He came up with this whole jewish thing off something he got off the computer. He even made me read the study. Which read that there was ten (10) people selected for the study. The ten had to be already diagnosed for certain number of years and at the same level of disease. only thing noted at the end was that it was the 1st time 3 (3 out of 10 mind u) was Jewish and from the same area to ever be in a study at the same time. How he came by his notions I do not know. I remember being stunned and when I asked what he thought of the other 7 people he got irrate (sp). I learned about the dog cause I had gone over to visit and he was unbelievably rude. I had no idea about his anger about the dog. I try with her but I can't get anywhere. We are actually just now talking. Because of the dog. She has questions but doesnt like my answers. That or the vet doesnt like to be questioned. I dont know which. I have no interest in butting heads over this. I have been doing it to long. Her money. Her dog. But kind of blows my dads theory out the water. Which I would never mention to him. Just dont know why he wants to take it out on me.
He is so serious about this that he set me up with a trust fund to help with my medical needs. Except it will only pay for cancer. Let me tell you I couldn't feel more relieved and protected lol. You see thats life threatening not the sectioning Im going to need in the future and then some. I have tryed to let it go and not let it bother me. It seems to be them that cant let it go. We very rarely talk or see each other anymore. When I am there he responds to everyone in kind except me. If I could walk away I would but I have his only grandchildren. I dont know what to do about it anymore but highly suspect he suffers from the same disease as me. His health has rappidly gone down hill. And it was after his first colonoscopy that he really got bad in his treatment of me. His first love is alcohol. We all know how well this disease goes with that. I see him suffering just like the dog. Thing is i can prove you can teach an old dog new tricks. It hurt me in two ways. Cause I do love him so. It cant be fixed and fixating on it only makes me worse. I guess thats why I am reaching out after being off for so long. I was my happiest when I had the understanding people of this forum to turn to. I am proof that it helps to reach out and help when you can. thank you again.

Sounds to me like this veterinarian just recognizes a generous purse when he/she sees one. I am aware that animals can be Dx'd w/Crohn's.

OK, whats wrong with licking our own behinds? do you guys realize how much money I can save. we have a finicky cat, I solved his problem, I made butt flavored cat food.

FunGuy you could have died from that pill. Lying in the road licking your behind is a dangerous side effect of taking dog pills. Redjeep, call the pound . Funguy and artist guy have no tags. I fear they are rabid . Really guys dogs and cats lick their behinds because they can . Try to do that yourself and you will never get your back in place again . I'll stick to paper , cause papers stuck on me .
