I get that sometimes. I call it deep gas. Very uncomfortable. Walking seems to help me but as you know I walk for a living. I don't know if it is possible or even helpful in your severe case for you to walk 5.5 miles a day as I do. Nor do I know if it would be helpful for you to put your rear in the air with you head on your pillow. Such silly advice when you are feeling so ill. In any event hope things work themselves out today so you can go home to the family.

Dawg says you can read these so I hope you can read this in your little white room . When I cant pass gas I say its because I'm up tight . Guess I can be a tight a-- at times. I am sure they are doing all manner of test on you so maybe they will find an answer soon. Sorry to say it does sound like an obstruction to me but I'm no doctor , thank goodness . Tell your doc what you need is a good shop vacuum cleaner and some privacy for a few minutes and you will feel much better . Those things really suck . I found out just how much one time while vacuuming sawdust from my beard . I passed the 4 inch hose over my face and as it passed over my nose it latched on and literally sucked all the air from my lungs . After gasping for air for a few minutes I swore never to make that mistake again. I'm sure it could clean out any gas or other things that or having trouble making the journey from one end to the other of your body . Hope they get you all better soon. Tell the docs , we need our nanners back . Big , gentle hug for you,,,,,,get well soon .

Gail, I'm so sorry you are in so much pain! I remember my husband having gas pains like that. It really helped to cut out sugars (even ensure and switch to something with stevia in it instead). But I'm not sure you're even trying a full liquid diet yet, so diet changes probably won't help.
My husband felt that gasx made it easier for the gas to be expelled. Can you take that? I know I'm suggesting things you probably already know and have tried. I guess I just wish I could find something that would make you feel better.
Hang in there! I'm sorry you aren't able to spend time with your grandson, but perhaps you can plan a visit for when you are feeling better. Is there any chance your daughter will be willing to postpone her move? Mom in the hospital is a darned good reason to hang around, IMO.
(((hugs))). I'm praying you find relief soon. Have they done any imaging to see what maybe happening inside?
I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

Painful gas is just awful. I agree that walking is good. Also curling up into a ball and doing twisting stretches to massage your gut and push that stuff down. For my babies I'd massage their bellies in a clockwise motion to move the gas down and out. I do that for myself sometimes, but sometimes the gas I get is above the diaphragm (in my shoulders!) and waiting is the only way to get through it. {{{HUGS}}}}

I hope the iv pred is doing a good job in reducing any inflammation adding to the obstruction and that you'll be back home soon Gail. I'm glad you have more pain meds. It really helps keep you in better spirits if you can at least ward away some of the pain. (((hugs))). Praying for your swift recovery.

Hey Nanners just found out you are visiting the hospital. Please take care of yourself, sure would be nice if they could give you a heating pad for your belly full of gas. Whenever I have had bad gas after any surgery they always made me walk to get it going. That is an awful pain for sure. You can see you are badly missed here at the forum. Hugs.

I never know the "right" thing to say to someone that I care about
when they are in pain and so ill. Especially when you can't actually be with them. That is why I haven't said much since you went into the hospital this time. There hasn't been a day that has gone by that I haven't checked numerous times to see if there was new news on you. I'm so glad that they seem to be honing in on what the cause of all this trouble is now. You have no idea how much you have helped me get through my own illness so many times in the last year and a half.
My thoughts are with you Gail. Please get better soon!!
