Update on Gail (Nanners)

GI doc saw her with the results of her SBFT. It seams she most probably has scarring and adhesions
creating a blockage. They are going to hit her hard with IV pred, to see if that will help. If not, it probably
means surgical intervention.

As you can imagine she's feeling kinda low right now, and would appreciate your prayers and good thoughts
to help her through this.

She tells me that she misses us all very much. What a special lady she is!!

Ivy, she's on facebook, which she can access from her phone. The forum is more difficult. But, she's
really missing this place very badly right now.

I'm very sorry that you may have to face another surgery. Prayers coming your way. I'm sure it's tough to face right now, but there's better days ahead.

I've been checking here every day for updates on Nanners. She is such a special person and so supportive of everyone on this forum. She got me through some really tough times and was always there for me these past few years. I hope and pray that the prednisone will work for her!!!!!!!!!! Many thoughts and prayers for you every day!!!!!!!!!

One babystep at a time as we both know so well.  It is ok to feel down as this is not the news you were hoping for.  Give yourself permission to feel angry and ticked off my dear friend.

Oh, Nanners, so sorry to hear that you're having such a rough time--and possibly facing surgery. You'll make it through this. Hang tough. Just know that all of us here miss you and are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. This forum isn't the same without you, as I'm sure you know.

I spoke to Gail last night, the high steroids haven't helped much yet, but they will re evaluate her Sun or Mon. When surgery was mention, it really hit her from left field. But she has had some time to think and is realizing that things have gone downhill for the last 6+ months. After so many years of this blasted disease we long termers tend to think we are done with the worst of it only to have reality come bite us in the butt.

She is able to get on to read the boards some, but posting is a problem. She is missing everyone here, please keep sending her your good thoughts and prayers.

Just got a message from Gail. The hospital switched her GI doctors for some reason and this new one seems to think that sending her home on a clear liquid diet is a good idea. Needless to say Gail is not happy. She is still not tolerating liquids well and if they send her home without figuring out what is going on she is afraid she may be headed for another emergency resection. She sounds quite low, she is losing her fight. It is still too early out on the west coast for a phone call. Hopefully she can get the last GI back. Not sure if this is a change for the weekend or permanent. She is getting mixed messages. I am going to try to give her a call later today to try to cheer her up. I will post later.
