Humira, 6mp and surgery

So my husband is having another surgery to drain abcess and redo his seton bands. He's on Humira and 6mp and the surgeon said that its fine and he doesn't have to stop the meds. I guess I'm asking because the meds suppress his immune system, is it okay to have surgery??
