Just wanted to say Happy Saturday to all my crohnies out there!!!

Listen i have a ? for you all. I am going to be doing a solo dance( belly) to johnny cash and am wanting to make my costume, I am having a hell of a time finding anything steampunk/western. (google steampunk if you are not sure) I need to make my belt and cowboy hat. Black of course. Any ideas???

Make a cowboy hat? confused   maybe you want to buy one and bling it up w/ Victorian looking brooches and beads?

Belt fabric: vynil in the outdoor section of your fabric store, velvet-like fabric backed with stiff iron on facing? You can buy a remnant and piece it. Craftster or all free sewing can help with how to.

And of course you will have a rhinestone cowboy boot pin in your naval , an diamond pistols on your ,,,,,, ahhhhhh ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, someplace else ? I don't think he will notice the hat .

You could do the CB hat with some cool gears and you might find a clock face or such at the craft store. How in the world did you come up with Steampunk cowboy? I love it!

my wife is tailor and she has made quite afew costumes that have won awards at there prespective halloween parties, I'll have her read your post and respond

thanks ag..that would be great...i think i found someone to make me a leather hat( as long at is not that shiny stuff, with goggles on it!!) And now..a hip belt... Steampunk is seen in the belly dance just not offten..and since i am dancing to Johnny i want to make it something a bit different than dressed in all black. Should prove to be most interesting as i have never done a solo before and i am making the whole dance myself..eppppp what am i getting into?? I have until the end of oct to get er done.
