Hello everyone.. so i have been on Humira since march and I always get alittle irritated but lately i have been getting very irritated around the injection site... and there is even a lump... did i mention it itches like crazy and burns a bit so can anyone help me and give me any suggestions on how to treat this?? any cream or maybe some type of compress?? thank you for your time

Have absolutely no experience of Humira so this is only guesswork but it sounds like a case of a local irritation/reaction.
Maybe an anti-histamine type tablet would work if taken close to the time of injecting BUT I do not know if you can take any anti histamines or whether there are any contra indications on it, perhaps someone else will know.

Hi Cheerpinky,

I have read of others having this issue. I think what they do is leave the med out for at least 30 min before injecting, then icing the area first before injecting helped them not to hurt so much. Hope that helps a little.

Either way, it may be a good idea to let the doc know about it, just in case. ;)

I get that the day ofter my shot...a little bump and itchy spot around injection site. All I use is anti-histamine cream or anti itch cream...and I let my doc know that I get that after my shot...the itchy spot is never bigger then a nickel and is only itchy for a day or two.

VIXEN:thank you... i havent tried an anti histamine...NANNERs:yes i do leave it out for 30 but i have not tried icing it... the injection itself hurts terrible and not only because i am a big baby but its the reaction afterwards... i never reacted like this before.only now that i have been doing it weekly.... thank you.. TORRANCE BOY-i think i am going to have to..i do bug him whenever i feel something not right so i wanted to see if i could figure this out before telling him lol.... LADY 1012- i gave myself the injection thrs at 11pm almost 12 am because friday is my usualy day... and today i still have this red bump... its itches and burns still..its alittle bigger than a quarter...
