I was worried about travelling for 2 weeks. We spent 3 days in each location, for 12 days, with a day of driving in between, and sitting in a car (or plane) for hours always causes problems. Not to mention having to eat restaurant food for most of our meals...but my fears were unfounded and I had a lovely time! Got back Saturday night, felt tired on Sunday (late arrival) and then Monday the sh***T hit the fan.
I had a crampy, painful day on Tuesday with probably 5 bms. My SIs are both killing me, and my right knee hurts more than usual. My right sided belly pain is worsened. I'm not sleeping well. I've napped every day since we've been home and still feel exhausted. Last night I couldn't sleep on my left side because my right side pain would start getting worse. UGH.
I had scheduled a visit with my GI for this past Tuesday, but cancelled it because I'm swamped with work, kids starting school, etc. I just had my abdominal CT before we left that showed no evidence of inflammation - my GI recommended I take a laxative to keep my bowels moving but I haven't started that yet. And after Tuesday's experience, why would I need a laxative exactly?
I haven't had diarrhea and I haven't seen blood or mucous in a long, long time. I'm still gluten free. Maybe my own meal prep is causing me more problems than 2 weeks of eating out? That seems unlikely. Is it just the post-vacation crisis?
