Dang, dang and double dang !  Well you know where the Cardiac Forum is and I am there so if you have any questions re A-Fib I am more then willing to help you out if I can. 

Wondering if you should see a Cardiologist if this is a new onset Atrial Fib problem ?  Just a thought.

I am glad to know you are keeping your options open re disability.  Do make that appointment with your PCP as soon as you can.  I am always here thinking of you and keeping those prayers going.

Now, what did your GI say to your comment about disability? Was he generally accepting of it, or do you think it will be more of a nudging fight? Just wondering if you think you need to "prepare" your doctor, or are you "preparing" yourself? I know it took me a long time to accept the fact that I couldn't do everything the way I wanted to and that something had to give. For me it was work. I would rather have a happy home life, give freely to my friends and family and not work myself to the point of sickness. I am lucky that I haven't had to file for disability. I just took myself out of the work force. I am pretty sure I could qualify, but we are OK without my going through it. I have put my time in. I am not sure what the rules are, but if I need to file some day, I will most certainly do it. Those of us who have been living with this DD for years and have been pushing ourselves to get out every day, have paid into the system. At some point, your health becomes more important and its time to just stop pushing yourself.

You know we all love you here and we care. We don't want to see you spiral down so far that you can't find your way back up to healthy again. You have been having a really bad patch lately and things aren't getting better fast enough. I don't want to see you push yourself to go back to work too soon only to get worse again. ((((HUGS))))

I hope they can get this atrial fib. nipped in the bud so you can feel better. I wonder if it is just from the low potassium? That can cause some heart rhythm problems. Maybe it's as simple as that.
Be good to yourself and give yourself the kind of treatment you tell us to give ourselves when we get sick!!!! I know sometimes it seems like things just won't turn around but they will, don't give up hope!!! You've been through a lot lately and I am so sorry about that. Dang Nanners , if its not one thing it's another. You should stop watching those racy commercials on TV so as to keep the old heart rate down . Some of them are almost X rated . I'll have to send you my picture so you can have an antidote . I warn you though you can only look at a small part of it at a time so as not to go into full arrest . Have been known to stop a clock . Maybe for the low potassium you can take some of the otc kind . Thats what my doc has me on and I only need one or two every two weeks or so. I love bananas but they aren't so fond of me at times and I don't know if they agree with you . The pills work great . Usually my wife can tell when my potassium is low . She will tell me to take one because I have become grumpy . I guess turning into one of the seven dwarfs is a sure sign of low levels . I've been know to sing their song too,,,,, I owe , I owe , so off to work I go . I know you can relate . Thank you so much guys!! I do love you all sooo much:) The Atrial Fibrillation has been with me for about 15-16 years and usually only occurs when I throw up violently. Which happened and caused me to be hospitalized in July. It took them about 5 days or so to get it quieted back down and I haven't thought much about it since. I thought maybe it was becuz I have been low on some of my electrolytes and minerals. Even thought it might just be anxiety, as I have been worried about what my coworkers were feeling since I have been out or 2 1/2 months. I know I shouldn't worry about that but I do. And yes, I do have a followup with my family doc on Tuesday. Currently given Atenolol to slow my heartrate down, and will see if the doc will change that to another med on Tuesday.

I am sure they are gonna try to put me on coumadin again, they have in the past wanted me on it for life, but it really never occurs until I throw up, so I dont think I need to be on it forever.

Yes my doc seemed to be open to the thought of me going on disability in the next few years. I am the main bread winner in our household and get my health insurance thru my employer, so I do need to keep working for a couple of more years. But once I can get that truck paid off, I will be throwing in the towel. I have had this dd for nearly 36 years, and although I have had a milder case, the past 11-12 years have been alot harder on me. Still on the fence to be honest, if I am ready to go back to work yet. I am feeling better, but still have those bad days. Also, this heart thing has really affected my energy levels and thats been a big issue for me too (weakness).

I was one of the folks hit with the blackout yesterday. It was kinda funny because the power came back on about 8ish last night and the first thing I did was heat my heating bag. Haha...Priorties you know:) But then the power went back off after about 20 minutes and did not return until about 6:15 am this morning. So addicted to my heating pad (even when its hot outside), I need the dang thing. At least I was able to heat the bag up enough to fall asleep. Haha..
