I have had an interesting week!

So many of you know I have been really struggling with my most recent flare and new job. Well last weekend I felt the best I have felt in weeks. Then Tuesday morning I woke up at 4 am to go to the bathroom and started bleeding severly from my bum. No D, no mucus, just blood pouring out. I made it to the bathroom floor just in time without passing out.

I ended up in the hospital and needed 4 units of blood and 3 units of iron. I am still in here and had a scope this morning. They changed my diagnosis to UC. Everything was healthy except for my rectum and last 40 cm. Identical to my father.

At any rate I feel much better. I restart the humira tomorrow and begin the adventure of rectal Meds.

It is funny because I always felt more like I had UC and not Crohn's. My symptoms have always been identical to my dads.

Sorry you had to go through this but at least now you have a more definitive diagnosis. Hope you get to feeling better soon.

Oh my, that much bleeding had to be very scary!!! So sorry you had to go through that. I do hope the new treatment works for you!

Well my interesting week gets better! I got discharged from the hospital today but the doctor said I need at least another week at home and I have more iron infusions next week. My new employer where I have worked for 1 month, called me right when I got home from the hospital and fired me over the phone.

So at least I got the good insurance out of them because I am already eligible for the cobra and this insurance already paid for my humira. But makes me so mad. They sited because it is a full time position and such a busy department they cannot have me out for this amount of time. Which is crap because this is the slow time and the last 2 days I work they had us doing stuffers and mailings because we ran out of our usual work and they needed to keep us busy!

Oh well my fiance has wanted me out of financial services for quite sometime so I think I take this time to get well and I make a career change to something fun!!!

Oh cupcake I am so sorry to hear how sick you got:( I am also sorry that you were fired. I think that is so rotten, you are so sick, and then for them to fire you for being sick. That is just awful.

I know I feel like I need to hurry up and go back to work becuz I am worried about my job. The difference for me is that I have been there for 22 years and have some senority. Plus I have applied for the fmla on top of my short term disability so that helps cover me. Big hugs sweetie!!!
