I am going to try it and see how my gut reacts. It's a grain of some sort. If you have had it..how did you make it?

I've been gluten free for a year, so I've eaten my share of quinoa. My gut seems to handle it about
the same as rice. I cook it in the rice cooker and make it into cold salads usually. My favorite is with cucumbers, cilantro, mint, green onions with garlic, lemon juice, vinegar, olive oil dressing. Another yummy one is with garbanzo beans, spinach and roasted pecans with maple, balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing.

Right after my diagnosis we started trying it, and I liked it. Then one night after eating a meal with Quinoa on the side I had a bad case of nausea ( and I've only been nauseous a dozen times in my life) and then I had some D the next morning, and I don't normally have D either. I can't really say for sure it was the Quinoa but afterwards it never taasted good to me on it's own, we still mix it up with other things though and I have no problems.
The only thing I would say is remember you ate it, for me it came out the other end looking the same.

I tried cooking the flakes, which I thought would settle better in my tum than the whole grains. They seemed to swell in a very uncomfortable way.

I use it like I would coucous in pre gluten free days and have no issues at all. It is very good for you apparently so well worth experimenting to see if you tolerate it :)
I also like polenta which suits me as well :)

it's great, you can do alot with it, cold salads, quinoa patties are really good, there is a nack to making it. wash it really well, it can be bitter. you can it at costco, redmill brand. if you live near whole foods, go to there deli, they have it in cold salads, patties. they let you sample as well. I find it really easy to digest,BTW

I've done really well with it. I'm shifting more towards gluten free and it's tasty.
