Yeah Zanne, at first I have to go in twice a week for blood tests until the find the right dose for me. I told my doc I do not want to be on this longterm and he said as soon as I go back into right rythym they will take me off it. I don't like being on it, but its for my best to take it right now as otherwise, I could wind up having a stroke and I don't want that. And it has been going on for awhile now. I too am glad that I don't have to go back to work yet, as I don't feel 100% yet and didn't want to go back and then have to go out again. Hugs!

As you probably remember my husband was on Warfarin, a similar drug, last fall for blood clots. It was a real pain trying to make sure that his diet stayed consistent and he never did get a consistent level on his blood readings. But then again, he isn't a Crohnie, so his diet is a lot more varied than ours. He was on it for about
6 months, but it sounds like you won't have to be on it nearly as long, which is good. I hope it does the trick and you are feeling right as rain real soon.

Good, it sounds like you needed some more time to rest and take care of yourself. Do what's best for Gail-:)

Hi Gail,
I know this isn't your question, but my dad just had the ablation procedure for his atrial fib and now he can get off of all of his heart medicines and he feels much better. He wasn't able to tolerate coumadin without bleeding, and the heart meds were making him exhausted. (He's 84) You may already know about
this option, but I thought I'd mention it for what it's worth. As far as the work stuff, you are right to stay off work until you are ready....you deserve that! I hope you are doing ok.

gumby44 it could be if they can't get it back into rythym with the meds, that they may have to do the ablation. I was in this situation a few years back to but luckily the meds worked. Hugs!
