update on medical tests

beside the small bowell follow up on wed, i am to have a egd on friday. the doctors is thinking celiac disease.  had my genetic test for celiac come back positive.  with 2 tests next week i am going to be busy and just glad to be getting these done so maybe i can find out what is wrong with me..

I think the egd she is talking about is what we usually call an upper endoscopy. Thats where they sedate you and put a tube down your throat to look at your upper system. Hugs!

I've had a few endoscopes. Just last Dec., my GI biopsied for celiac as well. I was pretty freaked out about it because the last thing I wanted was to restrict myself from the small amount of gluten I had. Anyway, those scopes have always been a piece of cake for me. Not much prep involved, aside from no food or drink after a certain time, from what I remember. I wanted to do the last one awake, but my GI said no and made sure I was nice and sleepy. I don't remember any of the upper GI scopes—now the other end is a different story!

I hope they give you some answers soon.
