I've not been around too much but haven't seen a post from you in a while.

Have you seen the Red Tape Chronicles at msnbc on the TRUTH behind the Postal Service Woes? Quite an eye opener!!!

Our government and politicians doing what they do best - screwing the average citizens.

If I can find your e-mail I'll send you a copy of it.

im here and there.. just not much to say lately. everytime i see a post thats i think i can help with, 10 others have already helped with what i would say so i dont bother. been good busy lately too. ive been sleeping better and havent had afever since the last one in july/august time frame. (knock on wood). C2 no i have not seen the article but i caught part of ablurb tnight about junk mail < excuse me , bulk busines mail, saving the PO.. dont know why or how, but i just heard the last 2 sentances.

Dang! I was getting a little worried, Randy, cause last I had read you were having the fever bit. At first I didn't think too much about it 'cause I hadn't been coming in a lot either, maybe once a day or once every other day and wasn't having much to say or respond to. But then when everyone else said they hadn't seen you around either .....

Glad to know you've been feeling well and been busy. That sure beats feeling so rotten you don't have the energy or will power to do much more than sit at the 'puter.

I never minded bulk business mail that was neat, at least not much; but, gads!!! I HATED that crappy, junky, thrown together, falling apart crap they pushed thru!!!! If the sender didn't care what it looked like and if it was falling apart it burned my bippy that I was expected to.

Here's some of it:

Politicians have been raiding Postal Service revenues for years, using them to make the federal deficit appear smaller than it really is.

The Postal Service is right now forced to pre-pay health care benefits for employees the agency hasn't even hired yet ­ in fact, for many future employees who haven't even been born yet ­ all to artificially shrink the federal deficit. Right now, the Postal Service is being forced to pre-pay health benefits for the next 75 years during a 10-year stretch. In the past four years, those prepayments have totaled $21 billion. The agency's deficit during that time is about $20 billion.

In 2002, an audit of the USPS budget found it had overpaid into the federal government's pension plan by roughly $80 billion. Postal Service officials lobbied hard have its pension payments readjusted. They were, in 2003, but in order to make the shift revenue neutral, military pension credit costs were shifted from Treasury to the USPS. (When former members of the U.S. military take a government job, their military service counts as annual credits toward pension eligibility. This holds true when service members take postal jobs).
