Are you over here as a student?
Firstly ask to see another DR although tbh I cannot understand a student dr not knowing what crohn's is!
Eight months seems an awfully long time to wait to see a specialist too.
If you are a student and registered with their disability office I would suggest you go and have a chat with them and explain the difficulties you are having-they may be able to advise.
or try and contact the gastroenterology dept at the hosptial direct and see if they can fit you in(many hospitals also have an IBD nurse specialist and you may find it easier to get hold of them)
or contact the NACC group (crohn's and Colitis UK) based in Leeds , contact details are showing as follows

www.groups.crohnsandcolitis.org.uk/leeds They may have 'local' knowledge of ostomy suppliers or have members on remicade and may be able to suggest someone you can further contact for help. My gut (sorry) reaction if a student, would be the disability office, they are there to support you in every which way! |
