Frustrated by GI Doc Visit - he thinks my pain is from GYN issues

I have been on prednisone ... 40mg for 5 weeks now and ahve been having chronic lower left abdominal pain. My insurance waiting period just lifted for pre-existing conditions so just had a CT Scan. It came back normal as was my blood tests and C-Reactive Protien. He said that he thinks my issues are not Crohn's related but Gyno related. I explained that I had that checked out a year ago and had ultrasounds and they ruled out any GYN issues. I also have mouth ulcers when I have GI inflmammation that he would see in his notes but I forgot to mention in our appt.

I'm frustated ... I am scheduled for a colonoscopy in a month ... he is tapering me down from prednisone and we decided for me to cut our dairy and to contunie to eat a bland, soft diet.  My Imuran tests for how my theraputetic levels will come in next week.

SHould I get a second opinion?

Just to add to fuel to your fire, when I have had my last couple of CT scans and been having very obvious CD or adhesion issues, the CT has also shown fibroids (in one case) and an ovarian cyst (in another case). So your CT scan should have shown something if it was a GYN problem. I might be tempted to call the GI doctor back to get some clarification as to what TYPE of gyn problem he is thinking. I don't know if endometriosis would show up, but I would think that a lot of things would.

Very interesting ... I should say that I have had surgery for fibroids, but I am not having heavy bleeding ... just incredible pain and it is associated when I eat.

I really appreciate all this insight and any other advice anyone can give me ...
