Bowels return to normal after a month of antibiotics?

A month ago, I had oral thrush. Was put on nystatin for 2 weeks/4xday. As I was taking my last dose, had bowel issues. Tested positive for c-diff. A week on vanco 4xday but then found Dificid and was on that for 14 days 2xday. On the last day had a terrible abscessed tooth, swollen face and high fever so had to take z-pac for 5 days.

The last 6 days I've only been only been on crohn's meds (endecort) but i'm still have pencil thin stool w/some 'muddy' consisency.

What do I need to do to get my bowels to get back to normal. Was find until I started on the nystatin. It's been 4 weeks of loose stool.

Help!

I suggest you eat a lot of yogurt with live cultures to replenish the gut flora, and/or use probiotics. That's a lot of antibiotics to take in one month!

thanks...I am taking 50,000 billion probiotics daily and finally found a lactose organic yogurt with low sugar. Gi said I can take imodium. That should jump start them back to normal. Hoping!

Plain yogurt is always better for you than any with fruit or honey in it. I use it instead of sour cream all the time. All the well made yogurts (ones with tons of healthy cultures) would already be low in lactose btw. The probiotics grow and stay alive by eating the milk sugar. Yogurt cheese is good too.
