Question

I have donated plasma and it did not cause me any issues. The screening process is more strict than just giving blood so depending on your meds they may or may not accept you as a donor.
They tell you to take it easy for a couple of days but I really felt nothing form the process.

A coworker talked me into it, and I was surprised they let me..I am on predisone, thyroid medication, and blood pressure medication..I would not think they would want my plasma?? My red blood cells were fine so they passed me on through..I felt horrible last night and half the day today..I was weak..I am scheduled to go back tomorrow..I am trying to earn extra Christmas money but we will see how long I can tolerate it..My arm is really sore from where they took the plasma out from..My husband did not pass on cholestrol, blood pressure, and diabetes medication..They took a Crohnie as long as my blood count was fine over the diabetic?? Needles don't bother me after numerous hospital stays and blood work over the years!!!!

I've never actually asked, but I've been on so many untested treatments that I sincerely doubt they'd let me donate anything that would go inside another person.

I was wondering with an auto immune disease and on predisone if my plasma would make anyone worse? I still don't feel right today..Being on predisone may just affect my reaction or replenish time..I was anemic for years with this DD and female issues..I did find it interesting from the tech on what they can tell from your plasma..He did tell me that I needed to drink more water and cut back on my caffeine..The diet you have shows up in your plasma too..They seemed more interested in your hemocrit count and the obvious needle and sex questions along with certain medications I had never heard of before..I am suffering with muscle weakness and cramping today..I did have this problem with CD when my fluids and potassium were low..
