Last year I told you all of the numbers of hummingbirds that had stopped by our home on there long journey . We fed them until they moved on , even feeding them from our hands . My wife found this little film and I though you guys may smile a bit seeing it . I took pictures but none as good as these . Even though the film is in Alaska these little jewels can be found in many places . All it takes is a little time and understanding plus some compassion for the others that share our world and you can enjoy this as well . I find it hard to be down when surrounded by such beauty . This just proves that joy can be found in very tiny gifts . Take the time to watch this and also to experiences such things yourself.

That was so cool, thanks for sharing Sniper. My youngest daughter lives near where these folks are. I have only seen pictures, but it truly is a beautiful place. Thanks again!

Amazing...My mom is in the migratory path also of alot of birds, not just hummingbirds. I have some pics I took at her house. Not as stunning as those in that video but beautiful non the less. Her feeder is right in front of her kitchen window so she gets to watch them fairly close up without disturbing them.

We feed the hummingbirds every year and they do bring great joy. Ours stay here all summer, in fact they've
only just left. They arrive every spring time just as the honeysuckle starts to bloom. What amazes me, is how
feisty they can be for such tiny bird. Only one bird on the feeder at anyone time, and they expend so much
energy chasing the others off.

My favorite is the scarlet throated ones, the smallest I believe but so beautiful!!

we feed like crazy, we're in migratory path, and they will stay all year(anis) we have a few other types that stop by in August and then Oct. if it won't be to cold, it's to cold now for them so they head up to the hight parts of alsska and go to south america in summer too birth. those are Rufus, short squattie brownish with white and aggressive against there own kind and other types, we have three feeders going, it's alot of work, and they will feed right out of your hand if you have feeder.

Just looked at it, those are are rufus. we've never tried to hane feed that way, I'm gonna try this spring and summer

Wonderful...loved watching this..thank you for sharing this,we have some bird-houses in our trees which are home to blue-***...visible now as the trees are bare....the land around my house is protected(Bird sanctury) and we get hours and hours of entertainment bird-watching...preparing bird-feeders now as winter coming in hard and fast...first frost last night,Slainte

got some that come every year here too, so fast and quiet, you have to watch for them in the summer. we also have a wood pecker that comes every year to the same tree. i got a fake friend to put up for him maybe to attract some more but not so far this year.
