Does this really come as any surprise?? Especially to those who have to down the acid sewer water every year. The only surprise is that the patient subjects were as satisfied w/one method as the other.

WASHINGTON -- Colonoscopy was as successful on patients allowed a full liquid diet -- including foods such as pudding and oatmeal -- as for those restricted to only clear liquids, researchers reported here.
Adequacy of bowel cleansing did not differ between the full-liquid and clear-liquid diet groups (P=0.22), nor did the number of patients with detected polyps (P=0.20), Ellen Gutkin, DO, of Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, and colleagues reported in a poster presentation at the American College of Gastroenterology annual meeting.
"Our study demonstrates that a full liquid diet does not worsen bowel preparation, decrease the ability to detect polyps, or increase total colonoscopy time, when compared with a clear liquid diet," they wrote. ...

I would suggest that EVERY gastro or other type doctor who performs colonoscopies should all try this type of prep and then undergo a colonoscopy themselves to verify these results for themselves.
Hey, before my gastro would agree to do my scopes w/o sedation she underwent both upper and lower scope w/o sedation. She then agreed to do my scopes w/o sedation. AND she agreed w/me that the upper endoscopy w/o sedation was a LOT worse than the lower colonoscopy w/o sedation due to our gag reflex.
