A week or so I posted wondering if I was headed for a flare. Turns out it was a humdinger. I had horrible abdominal pain on Tuesday, and hung in there until I threw up about 2am. I took myself to the ER, and wound up staying for 2 days. :-( This was my first ER/hospital stay. A CT scan showed about 20cm of inflammation in my small intestine starting around my ileum. Fortunately I responded well to the liquid diet and solu-medrol. I got discharged this morning, and will be on prednisone for 6 weeks, starting off at 40mg for 2 weeks.
As so many of us, I have a heck of a time on prednisone. My GI did give a prescription for ambien, which will help since insomnia hits me hard. I noticed it yesterday, but I'm already feeling moody, irritable and really want to crawl out of my skin. Could this be the solu-medrol?
I'm going to start on cimiza, as soon as it gets sorted out. I was borderline rude to the woman who called about it because it's going to get shipped to me every time. Well that causes a whole host of issues for me, and I just pushed over the edge of things I have to deal with. I realize it could be the stress of having just got out of the hospital, but I feel like I over reacted and am wondering if I'm just experiencing the side effects of steroids already.
