Had an area of inflammation on my upper eyelid following surgery for strabismus repair. Brought it to the eye doctor's attention after a few weeks. He was perplexed, and put me on a short-term course of prednisone (5 days), and also an antibiotic. No result. Then another doctor in the practice thought it might me a fungal infection, and had me use an antifungal cream for 4 weeks, also with no result. They finally scheduled me for a biopsy, and the plastic surgeon associated with the practice removed the affected area, and put in 3 stitches. Called me with the results, and turns out it is metatasic Crohn's. I am already on Remicade, and spoke with the GI doctor yesterday when I got my infusion. Last bloodwork was fine, and no skin issues anywhere else. He said if it happens again he will put me on short course of steroids and possibly up the Remicade. Anyone else experienced this? I read one other thread on here associated with metatastic Crohn's, but it was an older thread, so I thought I'd start this new one. Have been on the Remicade for a couple years now, and have been very happy with the way it's been controlling the disease. Hope this is not a bad omen!
