Hey everyone, its been forever and a day since I've posted. . . .

Does anyone know how much the Humira Protection Plan pays towards copays?

Also....

Does anyone use Accredo Specialty Pharmacy and know if they will process the copay assistance cards?

Sorry dont really know...my insurance here in Canada covers my humira..but I think it goes on your income??? Hopefully someone who know more will come along with better information.

I don't think the Humira assistance has anything to do with income. I have never had to fill out any financial info like I have done with hospitals. The pharmacy or doctor has always just signed me up and given me the Humira card.

Currently they will pay up to $500 a month towards the amount you owe. If you have a copay they usually pay everything over $5. Most patients on the assistance with a copay pay $5 a month.

My insurance for Humira is not a copay, I owe 30% of the cost, so my insurance pays 70%, then Humira assistance pays $500, and then I owe the balance.

Good news for those who owe more than a copay, the Humira assistance is going up for Jan/Feb/March of 2012 to help with deductibles and higher patient out of pocket. For these 3 months they will pay up to $1600 a month.

Oh and for the loading dose starter pack you will pay just $5. They cover everything insurance doesn't for the starter pack. Or at least that is how it was when I started.

I never had to supply any financial information. I received the copay card in the mail from my doctor's office, I had to activate it and before I knew it, the specialty pharmacy was on the phone with me asking when I wanted it delivered. I am will be forever greatful for this assistance. I was ready to pay $40 a month copay which I realize is still not that much. I think the pharmaceuticals want as many people as they can get on these drugs, it helps with their marketing statistics, and they can afford it.

I have the Humira assistance plan and I use the Accredo Pharmacy as well. As I recall when I signed up for the assistance plan you were eligible as long as you only had one insurance plan (ex. If you are married and you or your spouse have insurance but you are not covered under both) and if you are not on Medicare or Medicade. I believe that was all that they asked me. And yes Accredo does accept the plan. I call to schedule my reorder and then when I get the order and the bill I go in and pay my $5 that I owe and that is it. My co-pay is currently $150 so the assistance plan picks up $145. It seems to be $5 no matter what (at least in my case). My co-pay used to be $60 and I payed $5 then as well.

Hope it works out for you. It is just one less thing I have to stress about knowing I am getting a little bit of help there.

I don't have Medicare or Medicaid but I have the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan that was part of The Affordable Care Act, I was hoping that wouldn't disqualify me.

I have a specialty copay of $150 for 30 days or $350 for 90 days, and I will have an additional Rx deductible of $250 in Jamuary. I've been so worried about a $600 copay total next month.

I go Thursday for the TB results, then they'll call for the Prior Auth.

Good luck to you! I hope it works out in your favor. It's not enough to have this disease and feel miserable most of the time but to stress about money too is like a double whammy! I hope you get the assistance and that the medicine helps.
