Found a good recipe site: created by a lady who often cooks for her father, who is gluten and dairy intolerant, so a lot of her recipes can be translated into the fodmap diet :-).

She has what looks like a particularly yummy carrot cake, plus quite a few other lovely munchables. Plus, a lot of her recipes have five ingredients or less, so aren't too fiddly.

Doesn't the carrot cake sound great?! And I love the fact that she has a two-serve version for those of us who are in danger of scoffing the lot if we make it :-).

Geez, it's hot. Is it hot there?

Am still looking, so I'll share any other good sites I find. I'm determined to find something nice for Christmas. It seems to be the end of the season for oranges, so that jelly I was going to make will probably not happen, though I still hope to make that ice cream.

Here's another great one, that uses a lot of spelt and other grains instead of wheat.

I tried spelt but it was right up there with wheat for me - total no go :(

My christmas treat will be homemade strawb daiquiri made with bacardi, fresh strawbs and a drop of sugar syrup blitzed in the food processor and semi frozen in an ice cream container then server in martini glasses ahhhh

cold and wet here but looking better for christmas - pretty rubbish weather so far and we are blaming the el nino (or el nina I get them mixed up) weather patterns but at least the ground shaking seems to have settled down (famous last words).

drove around looking at houses who have gone completely mad with christmas lights last night and it was very uplifting :)

I'm hoping to do that, too, but last night was not the right night for it. Hot hot hot. Kudos to any Christchurch people who have the energy to do lights after everything they've been through this year, though.

It's a pity about the spelt. Still, I recommend that site, as a lot of the other recipes looked lovely.

No grog for me this Christmas :-(. I'm thinking I might do some lemon, lime and bitters, though - have to check the ingredients first.

ps. Have you tried buckwheat, Kiwi? Apparently it's really a fruit, so I'm not sure whether to view it as a grain (fodmappable) or a fruit (to be treated with caution).

I tried buckwheat twice - once in pancakes at a cafe and once at home and both times I can honestly say it was all I could do not to gag. I just didn't like the taste but maybe it is like quinoa and polenta ie the way you prepare it is what makes it yummy or dross.

Been cleaning the house today ready for the onslaught next weekend.

Got to get a new bucket to brine the turkey as no one is confident in the providence of buckets we own after a year of using buckets for toilets etc ha ha ha

Just want some sunshine to go with the new potatoes and strawbs now please :0
