Yes, but Lots of people with Crohn's have difficulty tolerating gluten, even when they don't test positive for Celiac, so you may want to consider a gluten free diet.

I don't have celiac disease, but I have noticed great improvements re pain and diarrhea after avoiding gluten. I guess I am "gluten sensitive". // Bee

I'm just like Bee. I've been gluten free now for 7 months and have really appreciated the improvement in my life.
My rheumatologist tested me for celiac many years ago and said I didn't have this problem. My GI had done several upper endoscopies and never told me of any indication I had celiac disease. So I have believed these last 10 years that I was not sensitive to gluten. I've learned a lot from this forum and elsewhere, though, that gluten sensitivity separate from celiac disease is a rising concern, especially in peri- and post-menopausal women. So I finally decided to try a gluten-free diet and was frankly amazed at the result.
I see my rheumy on Tuesday and plan to discuss this with him. One of the improvements I noticed (although it took longer than the others) was a reduction in the joint pain in my knee. I think the blood tests for gluten sensitivity have gotten better since he tested me and I'd like to review those old results with him this week. He can't test me again because I'm not eating gluten and so my blood shouldn't contain those anti-bodies anymore, but I'll talk to him about
that too.

I too have been on a gluten free diet for several months and have noticed a difference. My bowels are more normal, and I really don't know if I was tested for celiac before the doctor diagnosed me with crohns. I am going to examine more eliminations of foods that might be an allergic factor this year. I may just be gluten sensitive, but I am now a believer in how dietary changes can make a difference..I am not saying I am cured I am still predisone dependent..I just noticed many people have been helped by diet and many of my symptoms were similar to celiac with my crohns.
