Canasa suppositories and spotting/staining

Has anyone ever noticed bloody or brownish colored stains after using rectal suppositories? I would have just questioned the ladies but I'm not sure exactly where the problem is originating because it covers an area in my underwear from front to back.  I am post menopausal and shouldn't be seeing any vaginal spotting, so it's really scary and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the medicines I'm using. I am thinking that maybe there is a connection with my disease, the inflammation and how it reacts to the treatment.

Yes, it is normal!! When I took the Canasa ones, before the steroid ones, it stained my underwear often. Even my steroid suppositories leak out but thankfully they are clearishh suppositories so no more throwing away underwear for me :)!

My dad got worried when he saw the brownish stuff sticking to the side of my 'hat'(the thing that measures your stool/urine output) when I was in the hospital once and called the nurse while I was asleep and she had to explain to him what it was. He was embarassed, I think ;)

So, don't worry! It's normal! I read on the box for my steroid suppositores it was normal for it to leak out of the rectum sometimes. I'm sure the same applies for the Canasa.
