There are many more meds than just those. The powder is to help with D, the Asacol is typically used for large bowel involvment. If your doc knows your disease is ONLY in the large intestine there may be some other meds that target just that area however there are many newer meds than that Pentasa is in the same family as asacol however it targets the Terminal ilium (end part of the small bowel) and the large bowel, there is always Prednisone however most docs use that as a last resort due to its many side effects. An alternative to Pred is Entocort similar to pred but it is nonsystemic leading it to have very few side effects (and it lacks that horrible aftertaste) there are otehre 5 asa drugs as well sulfasalazine (same family as asacol and pentasa) there are the biologics ex Humira, Remicade, Cimizia, Imuran which is a immunosuppressant and others as well you may get better info via the CCFA.org website for better descriptions of the many diff meds
