Who has had to do a prep for the PATENCY capsule (not the Pill Cam itself)...

Ok, so I've been hunting around and can't find any info on having to do a prep for the patency capsule; however, as I posted yesterday, my doctor's office said I have to go through the entire prep for this one, and then again, for the Pill Cam. This seems ridiculous to me since the patency capsule is just to see if "everything comes out in the end" so to speak. Anyone care to share their experiences? Thanks!

Never had to do the patency capsule, but for the Pill Cam I didn't have to do any prep other than fast for 24 hours prior.

This is miserable... liquid diet ALL day, now LOTS of fun with Miralax. And what could top this off? DOING IT AGAIN in a few days.

What the heck??? :(

I was reading online and nowhere does it mention any prep other than fasting. The point of a prep is to get clear images but a patency capsule doesn't record images, so what's the point of a prep?

Excellent question, Jason. Exactly what I asked, but they insisted. Want to know the best part? I got there this AM and COULDN'T SWALLOW THE PILL. No, I'm not kidding. Went through all of that, and just couldn't do it. I am so upset! :(
