Where to begin? My daughter has Crohn's and we have been dealing with Ohio Gastro, Olentangy group, for years because they're about the only GI's in town and the only ones at the hospital near us. I won't get into every complaint we have but I will tell you that one of the doctor's there actually told me that their practice was not set up to handle out patients--they do procedures and take care of patients at the hospitals besides many teach at OSU. The hospital is in a group of several hospitals also and they handle all of them. So if you are going there with scheduled appointments every 3 or 6 months and they have your disease or problem under control, it's okay. I go there personally for a liver problem and don't have a problem with them because I'm an easy case. But if you are really needing help, we have never been able to find it here. They would tell my daughter to go to the ER. They can not fit you in for at least a month and that is if you can get them to call you back.
I don't know how familiar your primary care is with this group but I've known many others who have also gone there and it's never good if the patient is having problems. This group sent my daughter to the Cleveland Clinic because they couldn't figure out how to help her. I got the name of a Dr. Aaron Brezensinski from a doctor who has Crohn's and goes to him at the Cleveland Clinic, and I've given his name to others who are now very happy with him. Have you heard of him? I would think if you are at the Cleveland Clinic, you are getting better treatment than you will here. I would say you might as well give them a try since you have an appointment and are desperate, and I really hope you find the help you need but I am doubtful. I told my daughter about your question and she said, "Run away quickly!!".
Sorry I didn't have a more positive response.
