I am bleeding for 20 days as well, but I wouldn't call it my period. It's only after I have a BM and also after the excruciatingly painful cramps. I too have clots but not as big as you mentioned. I'm waiting for my blood results to come then I can at least make the doctors see that there is something wrong. Meanwhile I am trying to accept the fact that this is probably never gonna stop and I might have to live like this forever. Hope you get some answers. keep us posted.

Hi Ladies, I have just come across this thread after a Google search of abnormal pv bleeding and crohns. I note that this thread is many years old but I was curious to ask those ladies that were under investigations or experienced abnormal bleeding possibly relating to crohns what happened next ? I am due for my first lost of investigations next month (ultrasound scans).

I again realise this post is old.
But I have been having problems with vaginal bleeding too. It's been for the last couple of years however its only very occasionally. I am on the mini pill (for years!) and never have periods. But I have these 'episodes' ; I get really bad abdo pain, and fevers, then I get vaginal bleeding. Only minor and not at all period like. Also during these episodes my WCC and CRP have been high.
I have had tests for everything - ultrasounds, MRIs, colonoscopy, smear test and none of them show anything, despite my blood results, and it isn't at times I would say im flaring.
I do have endometriosis and had surgery to remove a few small active bits of endo, and I had thought that was the cause, but now its happened again so it wasn't that and I had surgery for nothing!!

Have you had a hysteroscopy where they look inside your uterus? I have severe endometriosis but what drove me to finally have a lap and hysteroscopy was this constant bleeding I was having that was getting worse over time. One day I was just sitting there eating breakfast and I was not on my period and I just started bleeding majorly. Turned out I had 2 polyps in my uterus that were causing the issue. Prior to having them removed I would have breakthrough bleeding with bowel movements and activities that caused me strain (i.e. lifting heavier things). They never saw them on ultrasounds or scans...it wasn't until they actually put a scope in there that they were able to find the cause. Good luck.
