Ya, the winter months can be a constant battle of flares, playing a game of catch up with getting better then catching something else. Its especially hard when you're on meds that decrease your immune system, and lower your white blood cell count, lowering your ability to fight infection as well. I go into crazy paranoid maniac mode around September here. I stock up on hand sanitizers and put them everywhere, in the car, in purses, bookbags, ect. I buy plenty of hand soap and we wash CONSTANTLY! Avoid touching your face, eyes, nose, mouth. I even use a paper towel to touch microwaves and things at work before I eat. I don't care how crazy I look. (And its not even me with the crohn's, its my husband, but if I get sick, then he does, then he flares) I know it seems like the basics but we just go into this crazy mode during cold and flu season to try and protect us from any and all illness. It's especially hard with small kids, they always have something going on.
Good luck, stay happy and healthy!
