Hi
Getting diagnosed was a right hassle for me. First I had to go back to the GP five times, ( different one each time)before finally I was referred to a GI,thank god! Then I think I underwent around 6 tests including CT, Dexa scan, ultrasound, Colonosopy and another one that you swallow, various blood tests as well. While this was going on I'd lost loads of weight had terrible joint pain, and was white as a sheet with anemia. GI gave me something called creon as he had concerns about my pancreas .
Then finally I was diagnosed with Crohn's. What a relief! although normally this wouldn't be a reason to celebrate, but for me It was fantastic, I knew that my kids would still have a dad and somehow with the help of family and friends I would get through it.
The stress was pretty awful I have to say but I'm now back to my normal weight and taking 3 asacol per day plus 2 cacium tabs having been weened off prednisolone last year.
Like most people I do sometimes worry about the future but at least I know what it is and what I need to do if I flare up again.
best wishes and
Regards to you all
