I can't begin to explain how much I loathe abscesses. I am not new to them but haven't experienced one in a while. But they easily rank as one of the worst pain I have felt with Crohn's. It frustrates me that right when you think you're out of the woods something like this comes along and just saddens me. I have been feeling pretty bad lately but it has been like abdominal pain, multiple BMs, etc. But it started calming down a bit.
Well about
3 days ago I started feeling sore in my perianal area, which is where I've gotten all of my abscesses and fistulas, but I've had that happen before and it just stayed at sore and had gone away after about
2-3 days. This time after feeling sore, last night I'm just laying in bed watching TV and it startled me because it started to hurt. I couldn't get into a position where it wasn't throbbing. So I got up drank two tylenols and tried to fall asleep with a pillow between my legs. I finally fell asleep and woke up this morning pain free. So I went to class(luckily I only have one on Fridays) and everything was fine, well as I walking back to my dorm it started throbbing and to the point where I had trouble walking. So I slowly walked to my dorm, it took me about
20 minutes where normally it would take 10. Called my doctor's office and told my doctor's secretary what I was feeling and she said she would get the message straight to the doctor. Now I'm just putting hot compresses to see if that alleviates some of the pain. Now, I'm extremely lucky and thankful to have my own private dorm to where I can peacefully change my hot compresses. So luckily there's no stress there. Right now the abscess is about
dime sized so hopefully anti-biotics will help. Thanks for listening
