GI visit/test results

I had my GI visit this morning, all went very well, The blood tests/stool sample all came back with no active signs of Crohn's so i guess i'm offically in remission..Thank God....I did mention to her about finding my asacolon tablet"whole" when i was collecting the stool sample...she said it happens but if it were happening regular then she needs to know..i've been checking since and haven't seen it happen again......She gave me a bit of a tongue wag about the smoking though:( i've told her i'l cut down with a veiw to quitting,Slainte

Sounds like a good visit. Glad you asked about the Asacol, I found one in my daughter's stool. I'm glad it's nothing to worry aobut just watch to be sure it isn't happening regularly.

Thank you all for your replies and good health to you all, Yes i'm on Asacolon(maintinence) ....I've heard of so many who stopped taking their maintinence and then relasped . Although i don't know how long i'l be in remission i won't be tempting fate and stopping my meds.Wishing you all the very best,Slainte

mg12061, It was my Hubby who asked,I had meant to but forgot, you know how it is when you go into see the Doc...you think of lots to ask and then forget LOL Well that's me....There was a thread on here recently Re Pilss that had passed straight through.

That was me that asked about the Asacol. My daughter takes Asacol everyday and the Dr. said she'd be on it as long as her liver function tests keep coming back OK and it's working for her. I hope your feeling well for a long time to come...

Dawg..Thank you for your kind words and good wishes, it was through reading your's and other posts on here that taught me to stay on my meds if i ever got to remission,while i never really suffered too much i felt that educating myself about this disease would help me deal with whatever it throws at me and i've found/learned so much from good folk (like yourself) on here than i ever learned from leaflets etc. People like yourself who are on here have such a wealth of experience and fist hand knowledge of Crohn's and by sharing this with us we are gaining an invaluable insight.. I've seen how much of your time/knowledge you share with others on here and i'm particularly impressed with how you reach out to the young members here,However bad it looks to my generation it must be even more daunting to be landed with CD at a young age,Re Crohn's bucket list LOL i have already started and had a wee Shamrock with mine and Hubby's initals on it done on my right arm,(something i've always wanted to do but was scared to) Keep up the good work and may God bless you,Slainte
