Scope stricture dilatation--how long did yours last?

So my stricture can't wait--it's too tight, and the obstruction is really uncomfortable. I'm having it dilated on Tuesday. I was wondering how long your dilatation lasted and if you had any tips for helping it last longer? I know that sounds silly but I've never had this done before and I want to get the most mileage out of it that I can, if surgery is going to have to happen I want to put it off for as long as possible.
