scope and your period??

So my annual scope has been booked for months, its in a few days and I just realized I'm about to get my period.
Maybe this is silly and there is nothing to worry about but what do I do if I have my period the day of the scope? Should I call my doctor and try and reschedule? It's already such a crap thing to go and do I am so not looking forward to it while being on my period.
Any advice would be great.

Hahhaha I'm going to be on my period on my scope next monday, too! Not that having a period is funny, it's just a coincidence. Every doctor does it differently but last April when I had my scope I was on my period & the GI WOULD NOT let me wear a tampon so I had to wear the "Hospital Pads" and basically it looks like a pad times 1000(kinda like diaper) and you just put it between your legs during the scope. I was embarassed at first but once they put you to sleep you forget all about it.

I think my current GI this time is going to let me wear a tampon but I'll have to ask. I'm not reschduling because I NEED this scope but if you aren't experiancing issues I guess it wouldn't hurt? The nurse at the hospital that morning just gave me the pad & said its normal.

I don't think it's a big deal at all. I mean, YOU HAVE CROHN'S! & your getting a colonoscopy of all things. If the GI were grossed out about periods he wouldn't be a GI :)

are you on the pill? if so you could continue taking the active pills to skip your period?
