on the way to the hemotologist.....

SPoke with my GP again today.  Hemoglobin had dropped from 13.XX 3 months ago to 10.4 and storage is low.   She wanted to start iron pills again.  but then she callled back and suggested I go back to the hemotologist for iron consult.  last fall the hemo said there was no way iron pills would ever work for me due to the crohn;s surgery....she said i have an "Iron assorption issue".  I took iron infusion. it worked but no has worn off.  so i guess time for another one.  BTW I am still taking no maintance drugs and I feel so much better!!!! no symptoms no pain no nothing.  we will see ho whting progress.  But for all of you taking iron pills be sure they are really working....

Sounds like you have some good caregivers, mirowpl. I'm glad you're feeling better! I have my physical on Thursday so I'll get my bloodcount a couple of weeks after that. The last one I did came back just fine, and I'm feeling well, so I expect no issues. But you never know.
