So, they have said my permethias test was positive for chrons....and I had a repeat scope ...ulcerations were gone (have been on sulfasalazine)...they took biopsies throughout the colon...and saw alot of "nodularity" in the distal ileum (looks almost like tons of warts or something) they of course also biopsies that. Well, after 10 days I hadnt heard back...so I called the nurse and of course had to leave a voice mail...gave her my work number so she could call and actually speak to me. Well, when I left work she had left a message on my cell(really makes me mad...I gave her my number to reach me) anyway...her message said "your biopsy showed no active disease, just chronic changes"....What does that mean??? So, do I have chrons or not...do I have Ulcerative cholitis...what does this mean? urrg!! So frustrating

I have always been like that. When the results were active, they used to give me antibiotics and that's it. What about
your pain? I decided to listen my gut and treat it no matter what the results are. What meds are you on? Keep taking your meds. Sorry, this might not be explaining the biopsy results but this is how I perceive GIs unless they see active disease, they will torture the patient.
Hope you feel better soon:)

That response by voicemail is unacceptable. You should not have to elicit advice on what the doctor means. Call her office and tell them that you don't understand the results and that you need to have a conversation with the doctor or at least the nurse. Have your questions written down and ready to fire. As a medical professional I am embarrassed by the poor care that you have received, shame on her! And frankly I would start asking around about
other Gastroenterologists for recommendations.
