Something weird happened to me this month . I have severe breast tenderness, nausea and severe menstrual cramps to the extent that I have taken strong NSAID injections. However, there is no bleeding. It has never happened before. I feel that my disease is now under control apart from proctitis which can be put under control with the use of pentasa enema.
Has anyone experienced this before?

breast tenderness usually coincides with the luteal phase of your menstrual cycle. Could be that you just have a delayed menses? Don't know why you aren't seeing bleeding. Perhaps you will have some spotting yet to come.

I have crohn's and endometriosis.... so my cycle is ALWAYS messed up... I recently had some surgery for the endo and my cycle went back to normal (28-29 days) but last month I had all the syptoms of my period for 2 weeks I ended up having it on day 41. Could just be your system changing (happens every few years)

Are you on any BC?

Kazbern and RA&CD132010, thank you. I can't really tell what's the problem. Two weeks I ago, I suffered from severe cramps, D and flare up symptoms and I took extra doses of pentasa tablets and enema in addition to antispasmodics. After two days, pain subsided so it turned out to be mittelschmerz (mid cycle pain). This means that there was ovulation.
With regard to Crohn's symptoms, I feel better now (keep your fingers crossed) though rectal leakage has become horrible. Also, what concerns me is that I have mouth ulcers, finger nails are very brittle and I have all lot of skin cracks. Is this due to malabsorption or malnutrition, I can't tell. But I do take a daily multivitamin. I can't say it is that late as only this is 3 or 4 days.

i'm so sorry your suffering so much.

Do you normally have issues with your cycles or is this the first time? And for ovulation... do you normally have pains or was this the first cycle? May I ask how old you are? If your in child barring years could be a few different things. Keep in mind Crohn's can cause so many other auto immune diseases like endometriosis (I was having major issues every cycle... thinking it was just crohn's flare up during my cycle which is common in CD patient's... but I did some research went to see my doc they did surgery and sure enough I was stage 2 endo...1 year later I went to stage 4 which is the highest) all auto immune!!

Mouth sores... again 1 out of 5 CD patients get mouth sores (altho your right def could be a med your on) talk to your doctor or pharmacy about that... they'll be able to let you know and wether you should stop the med if it is that.
